A portrayal of a statue of the Amida Buddha, radiant as in the title, and making his associated mudra gesture, with the thumb and forefinger forming a circle.
The original title for this work kishin, or "radiant god", is rather odd, since properly speaking there are no gods in Buddhism. But this is just one of a series of paintings by the artist named as "gods," the others all being fantasy figures of a quite different genre.
