Jigsaw puzzles from Japan
The first week of May brings the curiously scattered holidays known as "Golden Week". This year the official holidays are Tuesday to Thursday, May 3-4-5. So we can actually ship puzzles on Monday or Friday, but in practice there will be disruption until the week beginning May 9.
We are accepting orders again, but with very limited shipping options, which we have to handle manually. Please use the checkout form to request puzzles, and we will get back to you when we can. Please see the front page for more details.

![]() © Sesson ![]() 1000: Akafuji (Sesson)A modern painting in the traditional style. The title simply means "red Fuji" - occasionally at dawn in late summer the whole mountain seen from the East can appear red, and this has been taken as a good omen. This picture is full of good-luck symbolism: a pair of faithful cranes augur domestic harmony, and the evergreen pines promise longevity.
The artist is not named, but the painting is signed 'Sesson', and it seems it may be the contemporary painter Noda Sesson. Unfortunately, I have not been able to confirm this. Conventionally, artists are known by their "given names", though the 'son' character in particular clearly indicates this as a "brush name." ![]() A Beverly puzzle: 1000 pieces; 72 x 49 cm (28" x 19") Code: B61157 (61-157 on package) Retail price ¥3000 |
